Sustainable Investing
To become a leader in Sustainable investing, JSJ Sustainable Investments incorporates all 6 factors of green building into our projects where permitted.

At JSJ Sustainable Investments we make beautiful properties that are comfortable for the new tenants and owners because of brand new, state of the art, HVAC systems that regulate both temperature and humidity. We also use the appropriate lighting for all of our homes, so we are not wasting energy while still providing a comfortable environment.

JSJ Sustainable Investments produces homes that are healthy for the new homeowners by managing indoor environmental conditions with state of the art mechanicals. We use sustainable building materials and go the extra mile to make sure that our homes are well insulated.

Sustainable Investing with JSJ requires us to make homes that are exceptionally energy efficient. This requires energy efficient windows, insulation, building materials, building mechanicals and lighting. Energy efficient homes are not just good for the environment, but they also help our home buyers save money on their utility bills and provide tax savings with energy efficient incentives. We created an extremely insulated home on our Carnegie project by adding a stucco system over the existing exterior, which included an additional 1.5" of foam insulation on the outside as well as the other stucco components and existing wall coatings.

At JSJ Sustainable investments we are extremely resource efficient. All of our homes are meticulously planned to reduce the amount of materials ordered, and reduce the amount of materials wasted. All material waste that we are able to reuse, we do, such as the over 1,000 bricks we were able to save on the Milgate project.

Green building with JSJ really emphasizes long-lived buildings. This includes the buildings ability to be recycled after its useful life. We strive to use environmentally friendly building materials that are built to last. You can see the quality and attention to creating a sustainable investment in the materials we use in our renovations. For example, our most recent renovations include flooring that has a 50 year warranty, that are Floorscore Certified for Superior Indoor Air Quality.

In order to minimize disturbance with our sustainable investments, JSJ seeks to reduce its overall environmental impact. We practice the basic principle or Reduce, Reuse, and Recycle on all of our renovation projects. We also focus on choosing appropriate landscaping to reduce our environmental impact and use materials that require less harmful chemicals.

The idea of Sustainable Investing itself is not revolutionary, yet more and more consumers are becoming concerned with the environment and trying to become more sustainable. By creating a green building, we reduce our carbon footprint and, if properly equipped, are able to live completely eliminate the dependence of non-renewable energy. At JSJ Sustainable Investments our entire business model is based on sustainability. From the actual construction materials, to everything in the home, as well as the recycling of unused products, it is all about sustainability and green building.

Sustainable Investing & Green Building
Sustainable Investing, also known as, socially responsible investing, "green" or ethical investing, is any investment strategy which seeks to consider both financial return and social / environmental good to bring about positive social and environmental results. Sustainable investing directs investment capital to companies that seek to combat climate change, and environmental destruction, all while promoting corporate responsibility.
At JSJ, our investments go further than a return on investment financially to our clients, investors, and partners. We seek to create truly green homes while incorporating green building principles into our home renovation, and soon, development projects. We do not cut corners just to save on costs, especially at the price of our environment. Sustainability is in our companies core values and a major component in our company name and vision. Investing with JSJ is Sustainable Investing.

Sustainable investing also has to factor in social responsibility. This includes building homes that last a multiple generations and are seen as cornerstones in communities seeking real social and environmental change. We are providing green homes in communities that are in need of sustainable housing, all while rejuvenating neighborhoods and raising property values for surrounding homeowners.
